The world (read: Grazia HQ) goes wild when Kate Middleton recycles an outfit but there's one lady who may be about to pinch her recycling crown: Lady Victoria Beckham. Yep, last night VB was demonstrating the benefits of repeating an ensemble we've seen before when stepping out in London town with hubby David, fellow frock-maker Roland Mouret and Simon Fuller.
It's no surprise to hear the sleek dress that clung to Victoria's lithe frame is her own handy work. The tangerine creation comes from the designer's Spring Summer 2012 collection, which was presented in New York last September, and features studded straps for that sport luxe vibe. Also, in true K-Middy style, VB wore nude leather peep-toe heels by Giuseppe Zanotti to match her Victoria Beckham clutch. Yep, the Tom Ford over-the-knee boots - that we saw yet again at Wimbledon this weekend - are off! The 38-year-old did stick to her fave new hairstyle, though, to polish off the refined look: a centre-parted ponytail created by hair hero Ken Paves.
But what does come as a surprise is the designer of said dress is not the first lady to wear the halter-neck number. Not only did Jennifer Lopez wear the fitted frock on ‘American Idol’ with ankle-strap Lanvin sandals in April but just twelve days earlier, none other than Abbey Clancy was spotted working it with strappy Christian Louboutin heels and giant sunnies while holidaying in Dubai.
Admittedly, Victoria's not one to repeat an entire outfit quite like Princess Catherine, but as the greatest ambassador of her brand, Victoria is typically the first to wear her own creations rather than follow in the footsteps of other starlets, let alone a - GASP! - WAG. So has Mrs Beckham trotted out this twice-seen dress to nab a touch of that K-Middy limelight? Either way, it's provided us with a fun game on this fine morning, so let the fash-off commence! So what was the vibrant dress for, you ask? Well, VB was in town for a swanky 'summer' soiree hosted by Monsieur Mouret at the Roland Mouret flagship store. The top-notch guests, including Annie Lennox and Lulu Kennedy as well as Posh and Becks, raised a glass of champers to the French designer's 5 year partnership with Simon Fuller. Bravo! Oh, how we love an excuse to coo over David looking dapper in a suit...
