Karl Lagerfeld Designs Olympics Inspired Collection For London Pop-Up Shop

Karl Lagerfeld goes sporty for the London Olympics

Chanel’s creative director and owner of our favourite cat on Twitter- Choupette – Karl Lagerfeld today unveiled his plans for an Olympics pop-up shop in London’s Selfridges. The collection, aptly named Team Karl, will feature Olympic-sports related apparel and accessories, “capturing the energy and celebrations around the Olympic Games in the host city of London.” It will also house a limited-edition number of tees from the Karl Lagerfeld  X I love Dust collaboration.

We can’t wait to see Karl’s interpretation of sportswear…from the man that designs £29k diamond collars and lounges in daily-laundered long white smocks, we reckon slouchy loun gewear it will not be! Perhaps we’ll see nylon versions of Lagerfeld’s signature fingerless gloves being worn by cyclists for the games? We’re not so sure!

The pop-up store will be situated in the dedicated KARL LAGERFELD space on the 3rd floor, and will also feature in his very own window displays. The best news of course, is that King Karl himself will be in town for the launch of this exciting space, hosting a very suave private cocktail party in-store on July 24th  2012. All that’s left to do really is to cross ones fingers and toes in the hope that he’ll being his tweeting feline friend.
