Chloe Sevigny, actress, style icon and designer, is the latest model in a string of high profile ladies to be signed up by Miu Miu for an ad campaign. Shot by Mert & Marcus, these moody ‘70s-tinged shots not only launch the autumn/winter’12-13 collection but they're bringing our top gal Chloe back to the fashion fore. Despite her headline-grabbing turn as a transgender hit-woman in new TV series ‘Hit And Miss’, things have been a bit quiet on the Sev-style-front recently… Although, she did wear Miu Miu to the MET ball in May - should we have guessed this news was a-coming?
Miu Miu kick-started their celebrity-as-model idea in 1995 when Drew Barrymore (following her turn as a Guess girl in ‘93) posed for Ellen von Unwerth. A year later and she hit the big-time with her unforgettable role in Scream. And that, dear friends, is the theme: bag a Miu Miu ad and fame beckons. For the past seventeen years Miu Miu’s clever cred-building tack has been to choose lesser known girls who are on the cusp of major stardom: Maggie Gyllenhaal, Lindsay Lohan, Selma Blair, Evan Rachel Wood, Kirstin Dunst and most recently, Mia Wasikowska…. You may be ultra-familiar with these ladies now, but at the time of accepting their Miu Miu mantle, ‘twas a different story.
